Her father is an Argentine with Scottish as well as English descent. She has a Spanish and English-speaking mother was her mother. The Taylor-Joy family was a household that included six children. Four of them are siblings from her previous marriage to Taylor's dad. The family was originally located in Buenos Aires, but moved to Victoria when she was aged six. Taylor-Joy says the move to London was traumatizing and she was unable to learn English to avoid moving back to Argentina. Hill House had to be her new school when she changed schools from Northlands. Then she attended Queen's Gate School in which she studied Ballet and participated in school-based plays. At the age of 16 she quit school in order to pursue acting as a career. Taylor-Joy had always wanted to work as an actor. At the age of 16, Sarah Doukas Founder of Storm Management gave her the chance to be a model.
